The Treasury Department reported that the national debt has surpassed $37 trillion.

In January 2020, prior to the COVID pandemic, the Congressional Budget Office had projected reaching this milestone after fiscal year 2030.
Due to the pandemic shutdown and economic aids, such as stimulus checks and the Paycheck Protection Program, the debt grew at an accelerated pace.
In 2024, the national debt increased by roughly one trillion roughly every five months, $34 in January, $35 in June, and $36 in November. The pace for the most recent trillion-dollar increase slowed to 9 months under the current administration.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to receive God’s guidance as he endeavors to reduce government waste and improve the nation’s economy.
- For members of the president’s Cabinet as they implement measures to reduce bureaucracy and the outflow of taxpayer funds.
- For Secretary Bessent to be prudent as he manages the Treasury Department and its many agencies.
